Color black painted Dimentions : Width 51 cm Depth 49 cm Height 75 cm Seat height 43 cm Arne Jacobsen The designer & architect Arne Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen in 1902 & worked as a bricklayer before studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts. in 1925 he took part in the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris & then traveled to Germany. During this formative stay he was influenced by Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius, & Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Before World War II, Jacobsen designed a number of private & public buildings in Denmark & thus helped to shape the term Danish Modern style. in 1943 he fled to Sweden, where he created fabrics & wallpaper. After the end of the war, he returned to Denmark & became a leading figure in Danish architecture in the following decades. Inspired by Charles Eames, he began to design furniture, such as the iconic Swan Chair & Egg Chair, for his interiors.
