Peill + Putzler Globe Pendant Lamp/Large Size & Marvelous Shape Midcentury Modern Glass Beech Leaf Pendant Light/ Large Puztler pendant from the Atlantis series, 1970. Made of deep relief crystal. I quote from the Putzler catalogue "the multiplication & scattering of light. The glasses are deeply structured; the raised flat ones are frosted. This floral decor certainly serves a lighting purpose: it partially blocks the light source & thus gives a nice light effect. Materials: Amber hand blown glass globe lampshade. Frosted leaves design.Metal (iron) parts. White plastic tube & canopy. Bakelite E27 socket. Height: 80cm Cable lenght:50cm Width: 33cm Electricity: 1 bulb E27, 1 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt. Any type of light bulb can be used, not a specific one preferred. Period: 1970s, 1980s. Designer: Atelier Peill + Putzler. Manufacturer: Peill + Putzler, Düren, (West) Germany. Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerk Peill und Sohn was founded in 1903 in Düren, a small town in (West) Germany. Peill und Sohn merged with Putzler (founded in 1869) in 1947 as a glass works & lighting company & became Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke. The company always worked with important designers such as Wilhelm Wagenfeld, William Brown, Helmut Demary, Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner, Horst Tüselmann & many others. in the 1950s 1500 people were working for the company. They also produced glass for other light companies in Europe, such as Raak, Amsterdam, The Netherlands & Massive from Belgium.
