An anti-vacuum device for pipes of diameter 32 mm or 40 mm, for vertical installation. (Why do we need an anti-vacuum?) The problem is as follows: when we flush the toilet or empty the bath tub, the movement of water down into the pipes creates suction which drains out the U-bend water reserve with the weakest water reserve, a process known as 'desiphoning', which gives rise to noise in the pipe system and the release of smells. This unfortunate situation is the result of several sanitary appliances all relying on the same outlet The anti-vacuum device is therefore a solution, as it helps to eliminate the gurgling noises in the pipe system as well as those smells, by preventing the U-bend water from draining out.The anti-vacuum is an aeration valve which allows in a minute quantity of air whenever water is moved through the pipe system, thereby stopping the suction process
