Best Postmodern Design from Italy! A large, impressive & solid timepiece by Italian manufactury Arti & Mestieri (AM) I Legni Di Pirondini from Valtellina. The design of the Arti & Mestieri clocks comes from artist & designer Giovanni Pirondini. Together with his brother Ambrogio, he founded the company Arti & Mestieri in 1978 to distribute their postmodernist & high quality manufactured wooden products. The clock comes from a small collection from the late 80s, conceived as small architectural structures inspired by historical buildings of different cities: Nuremberg, Urbino, Lousiana. Pirondini's objects have been selected by several prestigious design institutions & producers, such as Rosenthal Studio, MoMa New York Design Store, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, El Corte Inglés, Boutique Centre Pompidou. This clock is made of several wood types. It magnificently represents two typical stylistic elements of Italian postmodernism. The language of forms, not to think the object integratively but to emphasize all its individual parts separately in form & color. As well as interior objects stylistically & geometrically inspired by building architecture, as described above. An impressive & rarely object, in very good condition! It works perfect with a German Junghans movement. in very good condition. For collectors - or your desk!
