Bauhaus Office Cabinet File Secretary 1930S Vitrine Schrank Highboard Functionalism Art Deco Walnut Tubular Steel Stahlrohr

Produktbeschreibung
This exceptional Office Cabinet from the 1930s is not only rich in detail but also embodies the patience & dedication to accuracy you won't find in just any modernist piece. The sliding glass doors in the top section run smoothly on ball bearings which are lodged into heavy brass rods at the bottom of the glass. The low section can be secured by a hooked lock, the likes of which you surely have not seen anywhere else. Creative nuances like the lockable hidden compartment - along with the satisfyingly linear partitioning & the straightforwardness of form give this cabinet a determined aesthetic which nonetheless remains rooted in simplicity. For the understructure we chose original tubular steel legs from the period of Czechoslovakian Functionalism in the 1930s. Somewhere between Bauhaus, Functionalism & Art Deco, this versatile piece is truly one of a kind. It has been thoroughly restored in our in-house workshop.
