Iconic Minimalist Steel Tube Stool From Gdr Space Age Original Chair Vintage Rare Eastern Germany 1970S Industrial Design

Produktbeschreibung
Original East German Steel Tube Stool! Absolutely reduced minimalist design. This solid stool is made only for functionalism. Most people know the legendary "ROWAC" stool or the West German "Ulmer Hocker" stool by Max Bill as today's well-known & expensive design classics. This stool from East German production is in no way inferior to those, based on the Bauhaus maxim, it is reduced to the essential & designed for durability. It was in the GDR in many households available but was disposed of after the reunification many times, because at that time all wanted to have the now available West German products. Usually the GDR furniture only had a decal or paper sticker from the manufacturer, this is no longer present here. The tubular steel stools in the GDR were essentially produced in two factories. in the VEB Mansfeld Kombinat "Wilhelm Pieck" & in the factory VEB Stahl - und Industriemöbelwerke STIMA in Stendal. The latter was the largest tubular steel plant in Europe in the 1920s & was the main producer of tubular steel furniture from BAUHAUS Dessau, which was only 100km away. So far still very underestimated & a potential design classic. It is in very good condition!
