Article: Ceramic stoneware object Designer & producer: Gerhard Liebenthron Information: Gerhard Liebenthron, Bremen 1925 †2005 Decade: 1970s This original vintage Studio Pottery Object was designed by Gerhard Liebenthron & produced in their own Studio in the 1970s in Bremen Germany. It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic & has a very unique black & blue color & surface structure. the bottom is marked with typical Liebenthron Producer signature GL & year signature 70. A very collectible & very rare item of the Liebenthron Collection. the object has a very sculptural form & in its size of 18cm in height & 19,5cm in diameter, it is very impressive. Straightforward & minimalistic design of the 1970s design era. This item is a wonderful addition to every modern home. Dimensions: Height 18cm Diameter 19,5cm. Condition: This item is in a very good vintage condition with patina. VITA Liebenthron: From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. in 1951 Liebenthron has been the Assistant of the sculptor Prof. Goersemann there. After Liebenthron finished his time at the Kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the Boettcherstraße, Bremen (in 1952). Gerhard Liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in Germany. the Keramik Museum in Berlin, the Fockemuseum in Bremen & the Hetiens Museum in Düsseldorf for example. He has been a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kunsthandwerk Bremen.
